Today I wanted to write a post about one of my favourite places in Brighton. The Lanes.
If you haven't been before: it is the cutest little area of small cobbled streets, quirky individual stores and buzzing cafes. Its like turning a corner into the past. Somewhere completely unique - so different - and I absolutely love it! Myself and my mum did a bit of a shopping trip there very recently and had lots of fun!
We went to snoopers paradise (quite possibly my favourite shop) which is a jumble of vintage bits and pieces. My mum also started a mismatch pastel tea set and we have found a lot of it there. I also bought the most beautiful vintage fauwn doll from the 1950's.
We had a delicious lunch at a little cafe we found in the North Lanes 'the Flour Pot bakery'. The interior design in there is awesome; copper railings, big squidgy sofas, big, industrial style marble work tops and full of people huddled in conversations or hunched over laptops. It has a really welcoming feel to it, not to mention how yummy the food is!
We wondered around a few other shops and bought a few small things, then headed to a patisserie/cafe which had the most amazing cakes in the front window, we just had to go in. It was a really sweet little place, and my cookie monster cupcake was incredible.
It was a really icy, miserable day, so we didn't go down onto the beach. Though, we still went to the Lanes by the beach...gazed like some zombies in a trance at Choccywoccydoodah and also got some really funny photos from this retro black and white photo booth! By then, it was getting dark, and I really needed a place to defrost, it was so cold my fingers were numb, so we went home.
BIG love XOXO
