Today I went to a (sort of) christmas market.
My mum's friend runs an awesome retro styled B&B in London, where you can stay at or go for little events and all sorts. Today she had a small indoors Christmas fair, where there was a workshop, stalls, and lots of mince pies! We made bees wax candles and bath salts and a few other adorable little stocking fillers. It was such a nice environment and so festive. I had such a lovely time...Thank you!
Adventure: After we left the market, we went for a walk through clapham. We came across this really awesome, abandoned block of houses, all boarded up and run down. The street was so eerie and cool, like it's been empty since the second world war. We then has lunch in a cafe called "tart". Which, you can probably guess sells tarts. But it was SO GOOD. i
I thought I would do an #OOTD because I loved what I put together out of a few things I recently picked up, and it's such a cozy (but also cute) outfit for this time of year, especially now as it's getting much colder in the UK at least... (Although sorry the photo isn't too clear.
.I hope you've all had a very merry december so-far!
I realise it is only the beginning of November, but I can already tell a lot of the things I am going to like throughout the month, and I had way too many October favourites to justify doing it for only month, so I've combined them. I have also organised the favourites into sections, so it might be easier for you to read.
Pre warning: As you can see this is A VERY LONG post, so if you don't want to read it all, the actual favourites will be in bold.
Update update: I wrote this post last week, and all of a sudden my anxiety level went up by 100% . But it's okay, because I haven't had a panic attack, just been close to it, and I find it easier to get under control better now.
Anyway, (sorry this was such a huge post, I don't know if anyone likes long posts?) I hope you might try some new things from this post and liked it. Have a great week :)
So as I mentioned in my last blog post, I am kind of using this summer to get my organise my life! (Yes, I'm a drama queen, but thats the best way I can describe it. Haha)
And I had also written a post explaining that was why I wouldn't be posting as much...well at least until school had finished.
And because it was the summer, I had set myself a goal to write lots of blog posts, because I would have "SO much time".And obviouslyy because I love it. But this is a little bit of an anti-climax, as it turns out I don't actually have as much time as I thought i would...
So have decided to take a complete break for the summer... And I'm not going to be posting on here for a while....
But don't start worrying!
I will be back blogging soon...
I have lots of cool posts planned for when I get back.
I've really been enjoying the summer so far though, and I do think it's helped me feel more together. I've been saying yes to more, and having lots of exciting adventures that I would love to share with you when I get back to blogging.
But for now its nice to live in the moment a bit, and not worry too much, or overthink like I normally do.
I am also off to India on saturday - I am really looking forward to it too, even if it means surviving an eight hour flight! *gulp*
I hope you can understand.
And in the mean time, have an awesome summer.(!!!)
See you all this autumn
School finishes this week! I hope you've all had a great year :)
As for me, I haven't had the best year....
Of course there has been good times, but I feel like it has jus gone on for so long, and I've made so many mistakes.
But every cloud has a silver lining, and hopefully I will be able to learn from this year, and make next year a better one.
I want to try and start to change my life up a bit, to be happier, and healthier too. As I've kind of lost any motivation. And I want to be more organised for next year before school things become more serious.
So I thought I would share what I am going to be doing, and what I have been doing for the last few days to make myself feel better. In doing a bit more excersise (I currently can't run 5 minutes without becoming out of breath hahaha),keeping things more organised and under control (school work, tidying ), eating a little bit healthier (chocolate is most definitely my downfall!) and looking after myself (skincare, and giving myself time to breath).
I am also going to be trying to do a lot more creative things this summer, because thats really what I enjoy, and I would love to practice photography and painting before my courses this september. And because I will have so much spare time, I've set myself the challenge of re-reading the whole Harry Potter series!
Once I have woken up in the morning, and checked social media and listened to a chorus of birds outside my window, I put on my dressing gown and cosiest slippers and trail downstairs to get some breakfast.
I have recently really enjoyed having greek yogurt and honey with strawberries, and is probably a favourite breakfast, and also alphabets cocoa cereal with almond milk and berries. These are both quite healthy and delicious!
If I have the time I also like to make a smoothie, this morning I made myself and my mum a banana, blueberry, and raspberry smoothie with I made with orange juice and just put into a blender. But I also use mixed frozen fruits a lot and just blend with a fruit juice. It is also quite a lot easier as frozen berries don't go off so quickly and you can get the fruits all year round.
Then I either sit down with my family and eat breakfast, or if they aren't up yet, I go back upstairs and have breakfast in bed whilst watching youtube or netflix. I then go back downstairs and if it's sunny, go into my garden and do a little bit of gentle exercise. I love hoola-hooping especially!
I then have a shower, brush my teeth, and do my skincare routine which I am really happy with at the moment. I am using the 'simple kind to skin moisturising face wash' which I feel like along side a few no makeup days and fresh air, has really helped my skin. Then I use the 'clinique spot remover gel' on a few blemishes which stings like hell, but seems to do the job. Then I use the 'clinique moisture surge' and 'super defence spf', but I'm looking for a new moisturiser, preferably with spf, so if any of you have one to recommend please leave a suggestion in the comments.I then do my make up. And my make up routine has changed up a bit recently so I might do another blog post about that soon if you would like.
Then I get changed, and this can take me a while and I come up with some really tragic outfits. But when I decide on one I like, I get changed and go out for my day.
I hope this has been useful in some way! Thank you for all your support as always.
Happy summer! Zx
Yesterday was my birthday! I am now officially a teenager *makes a crazy face* :p
I had the BEST birthday!! I love all my friends and family to bits and I am so happy I have them! They really made my day. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and for some really lovely presents too!
I woke up at 6am and fell out of bed with excitement, and then watched youtube until I went down and had breakfast with my family. My mum set the cutest table out and got me the most gorgeous wildflowers and we ate Lucky Charms! I opened my presents then went into Brighton with my friends. We had my favourite rainbow cake in Cloud 9, took lots of photos in Snoopers paradise and then went to the beach and played o the 2penny fall. *and I definitely diddn't accidentally get caught by a wave and soak my shoes whilst taking a photo*
I also treated myself to a camera with some birthday money and took it with me! It is the "Olympus pen EP-L6" if any of you were wondering.
I LOVE YOU ALL very much XXXXXXX
Happy April! I feel like March has gone very quickly, or am I just going crazy? Hahaha. Anyway, I thought I would do a monthly favourites, (before it becomes half way through the month!) It's a little bit of an odd mix of things this month.
I also spent a little bit of time and made a banner, for my blog, so I hope you like it!
So my first 'favourite', is mini eggs. My friends and family will know that I have an obsession. I absolutely love them. And as Easter was last weekend, I've stocked up! I just think they are the best thing, like a hybrid of a smartie, and cadburys chocolate.
I have also been obsessing over a youtuber, DoddleDoddle, who I found in the trending list, and have been listening to non-stop since. Her voice is so gorgeous and my favourite song at the moment is her cover of The 1975, Somebody else. Please go and subscribe to her channel if you haven't already - I bet you'll love her!
Beauty-wise (?!), this month I have been loving my sleek face form palette, which I raved about on another blog post, so if you would like to see review of it, click on the link. It's so stunning. I have also loved using my Liz earl cleanse and polish, which is incredible and has helped clear up my spots, for sure.
I have actually really enjoyed using snapchat, and retrica (old school - hahaha) too throughout April. I really like snapchat, because I think its like a little collection of memories from the day. And of course the filters are awesome.
And the last thing that definitely deserves a place in my monthly favourites, is my new jumper from Minga London. (photo above) This is honestly the most comfy sweater I have ever had! It is super soft and super cute. I wanted a pastel sweater, and this is the first one I found, and I was drawn to it, obviously because it's bubble gum pink! It was a pretty good price, and the material is a really good quality. I am pretty tiny too, but it actually fits me really well. I would re purchase from their website again. I also really like another sweater from the website which says 'Too glam to give a damn' LOVE IT!!
I am looking forward to April, and some sunny weather fingers crossed! Have a great week, and I will be back shortly with another post.
Love. Zoë xoxo
I'm very sorry that I haven't written this blog post earlier! I have been at my grandparents house. (meeting pugs, playing with next doors puppy, which is the cutest little thing! Playing cards, and looking at my new vintage camera too!) Also, I'm very sorry for the quality of the photos! I didn't take my camera, so I had to use my phone camera which is awful!
Last friday, my mummy took me to stay in Clapham, in London. A little easter break. We stayed at the nicest B&B, which my mums friend runs. It's a Georgian coach house just off from the green, and has absolutely gorgeous interiors! In other words, vintage.
We went to Spittlefields market first. It's a really trendy area of London, full of quirky shops and funky cafes. I absolutely adored it! We got wood fired pizza from the market, went into Mac and American Apparel and quite a few vintage shops too. We then went to Cereal Killers. The name speaks for itself. I am utterly a cereal lover, and this place was a whole cafe, dedicated to every type of cereal possible! From Fruit loops, to smores cereal (yes, it's a thing!), to granola, to Reases puffs. It is heaven in there! So of yourse I picked out some lucky charms (although I had just had a whole pizza hahaha) and had that with some vanilla milk. It was SO cool, and tasted incredible
Then we went to Victoria station and went on a afternoon tea bus tour, on one of the old London buses. So it's basically high tea served on a tour of London. It is the sweetest thing. http://www.bbbakery.co.uk/afternoon-tea/afternoon-tea-bus-tour/
Then, on top of everything else, we went to watch The Lion King! Which is AMAZING! It is so well done, and I would recommend it for sure.
The next day we went to Notting Hill after a lovely breakfast and adventured around Portabello Market. It was nice, but super busy. And I'm not one for crowds. But the houses are very photogenic and are all in pretty pastels which I love.
Shortly after that, we went home, but I had the best weekend! Thank you lots mummy!!!
I hope you liked this blog post. I have loads of other posts planned for later in the holidays too. Until then, have a nice week. Zoë xxxxx
I hope that you have all had a lovely week. Mine has been very busy. I am SO happy its the weekend!
Recently I have picked up a few new bits for my make up collection that I honestly really love so I thought I would share with you. I know a lot of people who are now starting a make up collection, and by no means am I an expert, but I hope this might help in some way!
But there might also be another blog up tomorrow which would be non-beauty related for any of you who don't really like reviews. :) Also please leave any questions for a Q&A or any thing you might like to see on my blog next.
So the first thing I picked up was the 'Sleek contour and blush kit'. http://www.superdrug.com/Sleek/Sleek-Face-Form-Contour-Kit-Light/p/436251
It's absolutely stunning. It is in a really cool packaging and is really compact and feels very nice (does that make sense?!). It also has a big-ish mirror on the inside too. The contour is matte. Its incredible. It is so so blend-able and can be really subtle or you can build it up. The highlight and blush are gorgeous. The highlight is very shimmery too. The blush is in the shade 'rose gold' and is possibly the prettiest thing I have ever seen. It's almost a slightly orangey pink and is a little bit shimmery and spring-like.
I also spotted a rose gold cream eye shadow, and of course I got it. http://www.boots.com/en/Maybelline-EyeStudio-Color-Tattoo-24hr-Cream-Gel-Eyeshadow_1253778/ It is very creamy and unbelievably pretty. I love it to bits! It's in the shade 'pink gold'. I would highly recommend it.
lots of love, Zoë xoxo
Happy Valentines day!
I went to my friends house yesterday as a sort of half term/ valentine thing and because one of my friends hadn't watched High School Musical. (I know!!!) So we had a movie marathon, with dominos and too much popcorn. We also filmed some very funny videos and challenged each other with chubby bunny and had the best time.
This post is a collab with Emily Rose 'Emsirose' on instagram. Her blog: www.emsirose.blogspot.com so please go follow her. Her blog is awesome.
What are your plans for valentines day? Comment below. :) xx
I brought over these cupcakes and I think they went down quite well. So today I thought I would share the recipe with you guys! Enjoy!
Lots of love, Zoë XOXO
Sift flour, cocoa, bicarbonate, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, vinegar, vanilla and food colouring until blended.
Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add one egg at a time. Mix in all the other ingredients third at a time until its all completely blended.
Divide between the cupcake cases and bake 20 minutes. Leave to cool then top with a batch of cream cheese frosting and sprinkles.
Hello everybody! One of my resolutions this year (see blog post) was to take more time to relax, so I don't get so anxious or stressed, and these are some of the things that I have been trying to help me do that. I hope this might help you!
1. Have a bath.
Having a hot, bubbly bath can really help me feel more relaxed. It's so nice float in the shallow water and soak. My hair goes all wavy and I always think it makes me look like a mermaid! (I won't ramble). I especially love having bright pink bubble bars and sparkly bath bombs that fill the room with the most amazing smell. I also light a few of my favourite candles. My favourite bath item-thing at the moment is the snow fairy shower gel and the magic wand bubble bar. Which both smell incredible.
2. Make a hot drink.
For me, having a hot drink can really relax me, and recently I have been drinking lots of peppermint tea and hot chocolate. There's just something so nice about sitting down with a tea of other hot drink and watching youtube or t.v.
3. Internet detox.
This week I had an online detox, to de-stress, and to de-connect with the online world. The pressure of having a cool feed, replying to comments, following and everything and anything online can all get a bit too much. Having a break from it all for a few days can really help to get everything else under control. After seeing how much it helped me this week, I will be doing it again. If you really want to challenge yourself you can go for a week, by the end of this week, I was just itching to get back online. Hahaha.
4. Watch a film or youtube
I like watching youtube as a way to un-wind from the day, it can take my mind off anything and make me feel really positive with myself. I also like to Skype my best friend who always makes me feel so happy and calms me down. I feel like this can really help me and I especially like watching disney (yes, I'm childish)
5. Do something you love.
When I've had a really stressful week I love to do something that I really enjoy*duhhh!* Go on a walk with my family and do some photography, write, draw, scrapbook (see photo), bake or just chill. Take more time to do what makes you truly happy, then you'll be less stressed!
6. Read a book.
Find yourself a little safe space of your own and read. Wether it's your favourite book, a magazine, or something new, reading a book can help you relax, and can actually be something to enjoy!
Hello everybody! Recently, I picked up a few new beauty and skincare items. Some I have used before and are my 'Holy-grail' essentials - and others I had heard really good things about and have been loving them - so I thought I would share those items with you!
The first item I would like to talk about is skincare. And It's the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I have found this to be really really good, and has definitely worked well on my skin. My skin can be quite sensitive but this is great. I had heard ALOT about this, and I knew a lot of people had said how well it worked and that it was worth buying. I wanted to trial a few things for my blog and as I needed a new cleanser, it was kind of a no-brainer. I bought the starter kit for £15.50 which included two hot cloths also. I would recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin for sure.
The next thing that has been absolutely incredible for me and its pretty much everything from Clinique. My grandma actually introduced me to this skincare and makeup brand and I am very happy she did! It's amazing for sensitive skin as it's allergy tested and although it is a little bit pricey - is so worth it. My grandma very kindly bought me the 'anti blemish solutions clinical clearing gel'. It was around the £20 mark, which I thought was crazy, until I used it. It completely cleared up my skin! You use the tiniest about on your spots and they disappear after about three days.I have also been using the ' liquid facial soap mild' which has worked well to clear my skin and is a very good product. Recently, I also bought the 'super balanced foundation' in the lightest shade which is 'alabaster'. It was £22. It has great coverage, is really blendeable, and feels nice on the skin which is something I never thought I would say.
I have also been loving the : rimmel wake me up concealer, Library of fragrance marshmallow perfume, lush bubblegum lip scrub, jack wills lip balm trio, and lush snow fairy. These are all so so good and I have 'nt got one bad word to say about them.
I hope that you might have found this useful, and if you have any beauty or skincare recommendations I would love to discover more in the comments. I am going to try and do more make up related posts this year too, so I'm sure there's loads more to come.
BIG love xxx
